Missed Call (Version 0.8.9)

Oh My! I feel exclusive with this review with thanks to the developer who has given me the rights to review the app before he releases the updated version on the market so this is a get it here first type review/post and hopefully it’s not the last like it.

Description

Missed Call is an application that allows you to fully customize notifications for a whole range of services that I believe should have had notification settings implemented in the Android upon selling.

Details

This allows you to choose the LED Colour, Vibrating Pattern and Ringtone for services such as a Missed Call, SMS Alerts and even Application Installs (My personal favorite).

Tip: I use this with the standard tone picking setting which is found under the settings of this application and the apps “ShuffleTone” and “Tone Picker” and that gives me alerts for Missed Calls etc that changes every hour which is so sweet.

The Pros

– Set Alerts For Tons Of Services (Missed Call, SMS, Bluetooth, Airplane Mode, Application Installs, Low Battery, Calendar)
– BackUp/Restore Settings
– Easy To Use
– Works Everytime

The Cons

– lags now and then (but not a huge issue)
– PopUp Toasts like 1 Missed Called or Application Installed etc

In Summary

Despite the expected lag this is a great app worthy of bring a paid app with the ability to customize everything for a whole range of services that are otherwise un-customizeable without this.

Final Rating (Out Of 5 *s: 1 – Android Fail, 5 – Android Elite)
***** (5 stars)

I love this app (and the other one you reviewed). They are 2 essentials I have to put on each time I flash. More people should get to know about these apps. Quick question, however, what is that 3g icon in your notification bar?

    • I Agree these are two apps I install soon after flashing and mate that thing in the notifications bar is a application I’m set to review next so I emailed you using the email address you provided (when commenting) and said what it is for others its a surprise till review day.

But see since starting this reviews site that 3G logo has been in the bar and I’m only thinking of reviewing it now.

Why? – I thoroughly test apps before reviewing some take more time then others depending on what they do.

See ShuffleTone I’ve had since release but I wanted to test to see if it worked flawlessly.

Whereas CoursePro isn’t a app that needs more than a day of testing not cause it ain’t worth it but cause I can check its main features in a day and see if it works.

Thanks for the comment though you must be like my number one fan 🙂 we need to talk you know the place to chat.

  3. I am the developer of this application. If someone needs additional features just drop me a message. I am looking forward reading your ideas. At the moment I am working on a plugin for the popular application Locale that integrates Missed Call perfectly into the Locale application.

Have fun with Missed Call. 🙂

    • WOW

Look at that first a member of staff of my service provider shows he reads my blogs and now the actual developer of a review makes a very good comment and I would of let a email address for contacting purposes be allowed for that comment but seems to be missing one.

Could be privacy thing who knows but you welcome to place another comment with a email address if you wish and I will let it slide through.

    • ANNO, I really love your application and would really like to know how i can get your application back, but since i have rooted my phone i am not able to find it on the market anymore, and that is a really important application that i rely on, and one of the best applications that i use on a daily basis, can you please tell me how or what i can do to be able to get it on my rooted phone, please.

      THANK YOU,
      JOE

    hello,

it’s sarah again. i’ve successfully downloaded missed call, but have run into an issue. i would like to know how to silence missed call QUICKLY. at present i must awaken the phone, click on notifications, and clear. this is normally not a problem until it happens at a time that neither i nor my phone should be making any noise. i tried turning over the phone, lowering the volume, but nothing worked. very embarrassing. i’d be grateful for any suggestions as i really like this service. thanks

    • @sarah: Well besides turning your phone on silent i’m afraid Missed Call does not have that feature.

To switch your phone on silent long press off and there should be a option there or just turn the volume right down but remember to turn it up again when you want sound.

Sorry if i ain’t more help.
